Go on treat yourself!

H2’s Home Pampering Guide

On that rare occasion when you’ve got nothing planned for the weekend, either your friends are away, the other half’s on a stag weekend, or you’ve dropped the kid’s off at their gran’s, why not take the time to look after number one for once! There’s no need spend a fortune, or to feel guilty, just take a day out and focus on you. You deserve it….

09:00
Come on, sleepy head, it’s no good lying in bed all day.
Pull on your dressing gown and haul yourself out from underneath the duvet.

9:15
Run a deep bath and have a really long soak. When you get out smother yourself with your favourite, luxurious body lotion or cream and slip into clean pyjamas and cosy cashmere socks - there’s no need to get dressed today.

10:00
A fat-filled fry-up might seem like a good idea, but all that grease is a no-no.
Two pieces of granary toast with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon is just the thing for a work-weary body. And no coffee if you please: a cup of hot water with lemon – Martine McCutcheon’s favourite – will perk you up without caffeine. Or perhaps, a glass of H2 Flavoured Spring Water to cleanse the palate? You should drink eight glasses of water a day, you know.

10:30
Now indulge yourself! You’ve got all day, so take time over your manicure and pedicure and be sure to use a base coat and leave plenty of time between coats of polish.

11:30
With all that hard work out of the way, it’s time to take it easy and relax. Why not grab a stack of glossy magazines and catch up on all the celebrity gossip.

13:00
Now for lunch. Grilled Chicken with steamed broccoli and French beans will keep you feeling light, and for dessert, treat yourself to a delicious bowl of mixed berries topped with Greek yoghurt or flaked nuts.

14:00
It’s time cosy down with a good book or curl up in front of the TV under a satin eiderdown a. It’s all about luxury after all. So you need soft lighting. Close the curtains, light a scented candle. That way you’ll feel like a lady of leisure, not like you’re on your sick bed. If you choose to watch a classic DVD such as – Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, you can transport yourself to that elegant era… but your favourite episodes of ER or Friends on video will do just as well! Whatever takes your fancy…

16:30
The time is right to opt to for a snack but go for something Healthy and fresh like a delicious peach or perhaps some grapes…. Very decadent!
Then take a little time to do some things you’re usually too busy for – write a letter (not a email!) to an old friend, put your holiday photos in an album or even tidy out your underwear drawer (a great excuse to buy something new!).

18:30
You’ve still got a lot to do today, so have an early supper. You don’t want to go to bed with full tummy, so a bowl of homemade vegetable soup and some wholemeal bread are perfect, accompanied by a refreshing glass of H2 Flavoured Spring Water.

19:00
Back on the sofa for the final part of the day. Pop a Sex and the City DVD on and watch as many episodes as you can manage until your eyelids start to droop. As you’ve done so well and you’re in such good company, you could allow yourself one glass of sparkling wine or push the boat out and go for champagne.

BEDTIME:
It’s been a tough day! So once you start to feel tired, sprinkle some lavender linen water on to your pillow to help you quickly catch up on your beauty sleep, knowing tomorrow it’s all back to normal! Until the next time….
