After initial briefings with the client,
we will draw up a proposal, containing an outline of the project, an idea
of the anticipated size and timescale and cost estimates.
We produce hard copy visuals for the client to review designs, make necessary
amendments or approve the style, navigation, section content, etc.
We produce a site map outlining the different sections, number of pages,
an idea of content in terms of words, images, etc.
If there are other elements, such as data, e-commerce, on-line stores, catalogues,
etc., we produce a design outline for these, and again submit them as hard
copy for approval by the client - again with cost estimates.
All cost estimates are signed off as approved by the client prior to work
on the site commencing. We may also ask for hard copies of the designs to
be signed off as approved.
Once the navigation and design style has been approved, we build the site
navigation and content. This will be uploaded to a test location, the address
of which is given to the client to review.
At this stage any amendments which are outside of the approved brief may
incur charges. However all additional costs will be quoted to the client
for approval prior to proceeding.
Upon completion, we ask the client to review the site content for accuracy
and functionality. We send a form by email which we ask the client to sign
off for approval and return to us before we upload the site to its intended
destination. This form asks the client to check the accuracy of information,
the functionality of the navigation and the validity of images.
This form also outlines our terms and conditions, excluding liability for
loss of turnover sales, revenue, profits or indirect, consequential or special
loss. The T&C also include an acceptable use clause, with a provision
giving Zygon the right to suspend the service immediately in the event of
a breach or suspected breach by our client or agent acting on behalf of
the client; also if any ongoing payment for hosting, etc., is not met.
If we are providing a search engine registration service as agreed with
the client, then we will also request or compile a list of metanames, description
and metatags, which will be used after being approved by the client.
All of our sites usually contain a direct link to our site, which contains
email links to us, which can be used to submit any details of complaints
about the functionality or content of our clients’ sites. We will
then check these complaints, and rectify them if necessary. If an apology
is required, we will issue it as required - either as a hard copy, email,
or on a specific page of the offending site for a limited period.
We retain control of all passwords and user names to prevent access by third
parties to the site. If we are requested by the client to provide them with
passwords and user names for their own use, then we ask them to sign a disclaimer
absolving any responsibility we have for the site.
When we register domain names on behalf of clients, we include terms and
conditions stating that we accept no ongoing responsibility for reregistering
the names. We will only reregister where a client has signed and returned
a cost quotation for this service. These terms also state that we do not
accept responsibility for rights or breaches caused by the domain name registration.
We do act as an Internet Service Provider. We provide a hosting service
as agents for a third party. This includes web space, email, database hosting,
statistics, scripts and a dial-up service.
